Overhead distribution systems take power from the bulk system to deliver to individual customers via overhead lines, it is used throughout the world. Because of this, many accessories are needed to help them function correctly. Accessories include clamps, splices, connectors, compression, and more. The lines are so common and ingrained in our landscape that most of us hardly even notice them. Power lines require specialized tools and equipment to keep them running. The power lines consist of one or more conductors (commonly multiples of three) suspended by towers or poles. Since most of the insulation is provided by air, overhead power lines are generally the lowest-cost method of power transmission for large quantities of electric energy.
